Role Overview:

As the Digital Designer at SmartChoice, you’ll be the visual force behind our brand, bringing ideas to life across digital, print, and event experiences. From eye-catching social graphics and web assets to polished sales collateral and large-format banners, your work will fuel our marketing engine and shape how customers engage with our brand.

This is a high-impact, in-house role where you’ll own the full spectrum of design needs and help evolve the SmartChoice brand as we grow. You’ll collaborate with marketers, executives, and external partners while working out of our St. Petersburg, FL office. This role is on-site 5 days a week.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Brand Ownership: Maintain and evolve the SmartChoice brand identity across all design touchpoints—ensuring consistency, quality, and clarity in every piece of creative.
  • Digital Marketing Design: Develop static and animated assets for email, paid media, web, social, and content marketing campaigns.
  • Web & UX Support: Collaborate with web developers and marketers to design landing pages, UI mockups, and optimize user experience across digital properties.
  • Sales Enablement Materials: Design pitch decks, brochures, one-pagers, case studies, and other sales collateral to support GTM teams.
  • Print & Event Collateral: Create signage, banners, booth displays, and printed materials for trade shows, conferences, and hosted events.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously from concept to completion, with attention to deadlines and stakeholder feedback.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and leadership teams to bring initiatives to life with compelling design.
  • Scalability: Build the design systems, templates, and processes that will allow us to leverage contractors, agencies, and freelancers for our future project needs.
  • Creative and Versatile: You’re fluent in both digital and print design, and comfortable taking on everything from Facebook ads to trade show backdrops.
  • Detail-Oriented: You sweat the details—typography, spacing, alignment—and deliver pixel-perfect assets.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, web design, visual communications, digital media or related field
  • 3+ years of professional design experience (ideally in a B2B or software environment)
  • Certificate programs in UX/UI, design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.), or branding/design bootcamps
  • Proven work in:
    • Branding and identity systems
    • Web and mobile interface design
    • Marketing collateral (email, social, presentations, print, etc.)
  • Experience collaborating with:
    • Product teams, marketers, UX/UI designers, or developers
    • A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, attention to detail, and a range of design projects
  • Familiarity with:
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
    • Figma, Sketch, or other UI/UX tools
    • Motion graphics or basic animation (a plus but not always required)
  • Knowledge of:
    • Basic HTML/CSS (optional, but beneficial)
    • Design systems and accessibility standards

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Canva, and/or similar design tools
  • Experience designing for digital marketing channels (social, email, web, ads)
  • Familiarity with print production and event collateral design
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or ability to communicate with web developers is a plus
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design work across formats
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of functioning in tight spaces, standing, bending, or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
